Mandarin Orange Sorbet

What do you do when you have a lot of mandarin oranges you need to use ASAP --you google for recipes and this one is absolutely fabulous!! It is from a blogger named Hungrygowhere


  • 300 ml ( =10 oz) juice from Mandarin oranges
  • 100 g = 1/4 cup caster sugar
  • 300 ml= 10 oz water
  • orange peel
  • Step 1 
    Prepare sugar syrup by simmering orange peel, water and caster sugar in a pot until the sugar dissolves.
    Step 2 
    When the sugar syrup has cooled, discard orange peel and mix in the orange juice.
    Step 3 
    Pour orange mixture into a shallow tray. When the liquid freezes, break it into smaller chunks and process in food processor. Return to the freezer. Repeat this once more to achieve a smooth consistency, and then freeze until firm.
    Step 4 
    Transfer to the fridge 15 minutes before serving to soften the sorbet. Garnish with orange rind curls and mint leaves.
