Breanna's Famous Hostess Meatloaf -Just try it once you will be hooked!!
So it was at least a year ago I got a call from another foodie friend Breanna that had been at a Pampered Chef Hosts home the night before to do a cooking show and the host had this incredible meatloaf made up to feed her own family. Breanna begged for a bite and then the recipe. When she called me about it I told her I was not really a big meatloaf fan and could probably count on one hand the number of times I had made it over the last 30 years. I agreed to try and WOW --do yourself a huge favor and make this just once--you will be hooked. Also please note you can substitute ground turkey as well for the ground beef. Thanks again Breanna for your enthusiasm for this meatloaf!!!

** original recipe is double the meatloaf ingredients -but since we are party of 2 this is the halved version -- please note I did not halve the glaze recipe as it had to cover the same size loaf pan

1lb hamburger
1/8 cup onion, minced
1/2 cup oatmeal
1 tsp salt
1 beaten egg
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tsp yellow mustard ( I used Guldens)
1/8+ cup ketchup
Glaze:
1 1/2 tsp yellow mustard
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup catsupPreheat oven to 350. Mix together the first 8 ingredients to make the loaf.
Place into loaf pan and into oven Set timer for 30 min (TOTAL COOK TIME 60 MIN)
Now mix together glaze ingredients--ok what was I thinking with a bowl this small- I ended up transferring it to a 2c bowl!
After the first 30 min of cooking top with the glaze mixture and then back into oven for another 30 min
Yummo look at this meatloaf!
Here it is plated --it was FABULOUS and yes Kevin went back for seconds!!
