Teriyaki Burgers -would you serve this to company....YES
Oops we forgot to take an after picture until we were halfway done eating--here's Katie holding hers! Nice nails Kate!
Teriyaki Burgers
There is a story that goes along with these burgers --not sure where I got the recipe--perhaps Cooking Light Magazine-- they need no adornment but I like to have ketchup to dip into as I eat them --anyhow Daniel requested this for his 25th Birthday lunch --ok so I have rambled enough the story behind these COMPANY BURGERS -- is that many years ago my mother-in-law Nora came out for a cookout and after sampling asked her husband if her would serve these to company --since then we always ask --would you serve this to company?? --family inside joke as we were serving them to company that day!

1 pound ground beef
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup green onions -- chopped
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger -- peeled
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 clove garlic -- minced

Katie grating the ginger --ginger can be frozen and peels most easily with the back of a spoon vs a traditional peeler.
Combine all ingredients in a bowl.
Divide beef mixture into 4 or more patties. 1/2 inch thick.
A hint is to dimple the burger to keep it from shrinking --thanks Rachael Ray for the hint!
Prepare grill. Place patties on grill rack Cook 4 minutes on each side or until desired degree of doneness.
Yields 4 or more servings depending on your choice of size.
