TEXAS MARINATED BEEF & GREEN PEPPERS
This recipe is from a friend Michelle in Minnesota in the 80's. I had a hankering for it recently and so whipped it up and it was fabulous served over rice.
Beef Round Steak
2 Tablespoons Cornstarch
1/4 Cup Soy Sauce1 Green Bell Pepper, SLICED ( I used 2 actually)
1/2 Teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
1 Large Yellow Onions, Sliced
2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil -- DIVIDED
SLICE STEAK INTO THIN SLICES ( HINT DO THIS WHILE STEAK IS PARTIALLY FROZEN).
MARINATE IN SOY SAUCE FOR 4-6 HRS.
HEAT LARGE FRY PAN 1 TABLESPOON OIL STIR FRY ONIONS AND PEPPERS TIL SOFT. PUT ASIDE - KEEP WARM.
ADD CORNSTARCH TO MEAT MARINADE AND MIX WELL. (MAY ADD MORE SOY OR H2O)
STIR FRY MEAT WITH 1 TABLESPOON OIL ADD MARINADE.
ADD PEPPER MIXTURE - BRING TO BOIL- STIR FREQ AND SIMMER 15 MIN.
SERVE OVER RICE.
