Vampire's Elixir
From Today show for a fun Halloween cocktail by bartender Billy Dec. This was very nice and I used the liquid from the maraschino cherry jar as the gastrique,
- 2 ounces bourbon
- 1/2 ounce cherry gastrique (or simple syrup mixed with a drop of red food coloring)
- 2 dashes angostura bitters
- 2 dashes orange bitters
- Ice
Draw the cherry gastrique into the syringe.
Pour the remaining ingredients into a glass, stir, then add ice. Squeeze syrup into drink and stir with syringe.
