Apple Time ! -Swedish Apple Pie (from my German Mom)

Today was my day to  plan  our date day --we went out to Loudoun County and went to the Bluemont Fair and then Bluemont Winery (fabulous views) then onto Hill High's Country Store where we bought apples and a few other goodies! Then finished our day at Sunset Hills Winery --also very pretty. So these HUMONGOUS apples are from there- so  only needed 2 !!

                            SWEDISH APPLE PIE

8              whole  apple slices, peeled -- CORTLAND ( or Granny Smith)
  1         tablespoon  sugar
  1         tablespoon  cinnamon
  1                cup  flour
  1                cup  sugar
  1              pinch  salt
  1                     egg
     3/4           cup  butter -- melted

LIGHTLY GREASE PIE PLATE (ok so you  can see we were halving this recipe so I took out the regular pie stone pan I use and we used the smaller deep dish)
PLACE PEELED SLICED APPLE PIECES IN PAN ok this is proving the more is better theory --the apples were  SO BIG that they failed the  Apple Peeler Corer Slicer SO I peeled then then attempted the Wedger (stuck!!) pushed them out backwards and used the Corer and sliced by hand --those of you who know me....what can I say!! (Failed attempts below...)

AND SPRINKLE LIBERALLY WITH CINNAMON AND 1 T SUGAR

IN SMALL BOWL MIX TOGETHER REST OF INGREDS AND POUR OVER APPLES

The hint on this is add into the melted butter the sugar then flour then salt mix THEN add in egg so you don't end up with scrambled Eggs!!

BAKE 45 MIN AT 350

HINT: PUT FOIL OR BAKING SHEET UNDER PLATE WHILE BAKING TO CATCH THE JUICES OR DRIPS

Serving Ideas : SERVE WITH WHIP CREAM OR VANILLA ICE CREAM oops we cut into it before we photographed -- slice number 2 on the plate!!
