Best Ever Autumn Bourbon Cocktail

From a website called neighborfoodblog.com this was so easy to make and absolutely delicious  - we made it 3 times in less than a week!

For the simple syrup:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 cinnamon sticks, broken in half

For each drink:

  • 2 ounces bourbon
  • 2 ounces apple cider
  • 1/4 ounce lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce cinnamon simple syrup
  • Dash orange bitters
  • Orange peel, for garnish

INSTRUCTIONS

  • In a small sauce pan, bring the water, sugar, and cinnamon sticks to a boil, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool. The syrup can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge.
  • For each drink, combine the bourbon, cider, lemon juice, simple syrup, and bitters in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until chilled then pour over ice in a glass and serve.
