Best Ever Autumn Bourbon Cocktail
From a website called neighborfoodblog.com this was so easy to make and absolutely delicious - we made it 3 times in less than a week!
For the simple syrup:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 3 cinnamon sticks, broken in half
For each drink:
- 2 ounces bourbon
- 2 ounces apple cider
- 1/4 ounce lemon juice
- 1/2 ounce cinnamon simple syrup
- Dash orange bitters
- Orange peel, for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a small sauce pan, bring the water, sugar, and cinnamon sticks to a boil, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool. The syrup can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge.
- For each drink, combine the bourbon, cider, lemon juice, simple syrup, and bitters in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until chilled then pour over ice in a glass and serve.
