Daphne Oz's Cheesy "Pizza" Broccoli
I saw Daphne make this on the Rachael Ray show and thought it might be a great yummy app and good for you as well. It was --soooo good we have made it several times since and Kevin and I can eat the whole bag of broccoli florets !!
1 head of broccoli (or I use the bag of florets)
2 T EVOO
6 T grated Pecorino or Parmesan ( I like the shaved parm flakes as well)
1/2- 1 t dried red chile flakes
1 t dried oregano
juice of 1/2 lemon
Sea Salt
Steam the broccoli florets in bite size pieces --I like to go about 1 min short so they aren't mushy
(I microwave them to steam about 3 1/2 min)
Preheat your broiler
Drain broccoli and they place on a bar pan. Drizzle with EVOO and sprinkle with chile flakes, oregano, and parm cheese.
Broil until cheese melted and golden brown--about 2-3 minutes
Squeeze lemon juice over and season with s/p
Enjoy --don't be surprised when you find you eat the whole batch!!
